Apple or Peach Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Slices of tart apple (5-6 apples for pie) or 1-2 cans of sliced peaches (fresh is better)
  • Brown sugar

Instructions
 

  • Spread fruit over bottom piecrust.
  • Add brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Cover with top crust which has cut outs in center.
  • Bake.

Apple Dabble (Betty’s Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce)

Ingredients
  

Cake

  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups grated apple
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Caramel Sauce

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

Instructions
 

  • Mix butter and sugar; add egg, vanilla in a bowl, set aside. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  • Add apples and walnuts to dry ingredients. Fold in liquid ingredients.
  • Pour into ungreased bundt pan.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350ºF.
  • Cool at least 15 minutes before removing from pan.
  • Mix caramel sauce ingredients and bring to a boil then serve over cake

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups sliced pared tart apples about 4 medium
  • 2/3 cup to 3/4brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine softened

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Grease square pan, 8x8x2 inches.
  • Place apple slices in pan.
  • Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly, Sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm and, if desired, with light cream or ice cream

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups coarse fresh bread crumbs 750 mL
  • 1/3 cup butter melted, 75 mL
  • 8 cups thickly sliced peeled apples 2 L, about 3 lb/15 kg
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 150 mL
  • 2 tsp finely grated lemon rind 10 mL
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 mL
  • Pinch each allspice and nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup apple juice or water 50 mL
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 25 mL

Instructions
 

  • In bowl, toss bread crumbs with butter; spread one-quarter in 8-inch (2 L) square glass baking dish.
  • In large bowl, toss together apples, sugar, lemon rind, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg; spread half over crumb base in dish.
  • Top with another quarter of the bread crumb mixture; spread remaining apple mixture over top.
  • Drizzle with apple juice and lemon juice.
  • Sprinkle with remaining bread crumb mixture.
  • Bake in centre of 375°F (190°C) oven until golden and apples are tender, about 45 minutes.

Notes

(Make-ahead: Let cool. Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours; reheat if
desired.)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups All-Bran
  • 1 1/4 cups fat-free evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup butter or stick margarine melted
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 egg whites lightly beaten

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine the bran, milk, applesauce, butter and almond extract; let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl; stir in egg whites and bran mixture.
  • Fill muffin cups coated with non-stick cooking spray two-thirds full.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
  • Serve warm

  • 3 cups All-Bran cereal
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 box sweet rewards brownie mix Betty Crocker low fat Brownie Mix

Instructions
 

  • Soak All-Bran cereal in water for 5 minutes.
  • Add the baking powder and brownie mix (dry) to the cereal mixture.
  • Place in ungreased muffin cups.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 20-25 minutes.
  • Makes 24 muffins.

  • Combine all ingredients together and drop by the tbs on a cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 10mins

  • Mix together in a bowl.
  • Pour batter into loaf pan and sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon,brown sugar, and a dash of nutmeg on top and bake at 350°F for 55 mins

  • Beat eggs, honey and oil.

  • Sift remaining ingredients and stir into wet ingredients.
  • Stir to blend.
  • Bake 5 minutes – reduce heat to 350ºF and bake for an additional 35 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 5-6 cups flour

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar.
  • Beat eggs, sugar, oil and water until foamy.
  • Add flour and salt, mix.
  • Let rise and punch down once.
  • When risen again, shape into buns, let rise and bake 12-15 minutes at 375ºF.
