Cream butter, with an electric mixer, until fluffy.
Add sugar and continue beating until the mixture becomes creamy.
Add eggs.
Mix in flavourings and milk.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add to the above mixture.
Add the almonds and cherries.
Fold in until well combined.
Add lemon juice and stir in.
Pour into a greased 9x5” loaf pan.
Bake at 325ºF for one hour.
