90-Minute Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 tsp shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 in yeast cake dissolvedwarm water 1 package
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3 1/4 - 4 cups flour

Instructions
 

  • Combine hot water, salt, sugar and shortening in bowl; let stand till cool; add egg and yeast.
  • Add flour until mixture handles easily.
  • Let stand 5 minutes and shape in rolls.
  • Let rise until double in bulk.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes.
