Apple Dabble (Betty’s Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce)
Ingredients
Cake
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups grated apple
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Caramel Sauce
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
Instructions
- Mix butter and sugar; add egg, vanilla in a bowl, set aside. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
- Add apples and walnuts to dry ingredients. Fold in liquid ingredients.
- Pour into ungreased bundt pan.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350ºF.
- Cool at least 15 minutes before removing from pan.
- Mix caramel sauce ingredients and bring to a boil then serve over cake
